Alta Vista Condolence

My experiences with generic lean and functional crawlers for the internet started with Alta Vista.

I rarely used portals in the 90s, most of the times I was directed to sites by gossip or Alta Vista.

Nowadays Google replaced Alta Vista, still trying to keep a lean and functional frontend with even better results, but nevertheless I will miss Alta Vista.
