Ubuntu Upgrade over IPv6

Even if there are already IPv6-enabled mirrors, that help to maintain an IPv6-only Ubuntu installation, it’s a little tricky to apply a release upgrade.

The recommended procedure is to just use the command do-release-upgrade. This will normally contact changelogs.ubuntu.com, which is currently not available on IPv6.

But you can use the SixXS Web Gateway to provide the appropriate data for the update manager. Just change your /etc/update-manager/meta-release to point to the following locations:

URI = http://changelogs.ubuntu.com.ipv6.sixxs.org/meta-release
URI_LTS = http://changelogs.ubuntu.com.ipv6.sixxs.org/meta-release-lts
